Bayou Shoreline, 8"x10", oil on canvas panel |
Water-soluble oils! Tried them with the plein-air group today, and another painter was trying them also! We painted under the graffiti bridge, and the weather was warm, but clear. Great day for painting! I went much looser than I usually do, and it was fun! I may go outside later today and try them some more.
This is lovely....looks so much like a loose watercolor with umph! How do you find the waters soluble oils? Are you using water to thin sown paint or a special water soluble oil medium? I would like to try them, but would like other artists opinions about them first.
ReplyDeleteI saw these in the Daniel Smith catalog and had to try them, so I ordered a small set. I think the set included the medium. I don't paint with oils much, mostly because of the solvents, but these were nice! I can't wait to use them some more, and maybe do something larger next time.
DeleteLyn, I'll have to give them a try. Thanks.
